Dear Graduate,

Where do you fit into your schedule? Do you? Making time for self-care is an act of self-love. Give yourself the gift of committing to a daily practice that nourishes your connection to yourself. When you set aside a special time to practice, eventually, what you are practicing spills over into your life. Many of you may already have experienced this with daily practices you already had coming into the Process.

In the Process, you learned many tools in addition to practices:

·      Tools are invaluable for building awareness of your patterns or taking your power back from your Dark Side. You may find going forward that you only need to use tools occasionally, and that you have one or two favorites.

·      Practices are about cultivating those qualities of being that are precious to you: presence, gratitude, connection to inner guidance and wisdom, equanimity, compassion, love, creativity, vision, and more. Practices help you remember who you are.

It’s important that your daily practice is the right size for your life. You want to succeed rather than set yourself up for failure like those grand New Year’s resolutions! Ironically, we can end up shaming ourselves for not loving and nurturing ourselves enough. How counter-productive is that?!

In starting a daily practice, it is helpful to start out small. Five minutes taken every day is more powerful than taking an hour at random. Some days you may feel distracted or impatient, but always keep your appointment with yourself. You matter.

Today’s action step: Decide on a simple daily practice that works well for you – perhaps something you already did prior to the Process or something new you learned during the Process. Now, open your calendar and schedule in a practice at least one time a day for the next week.

Your next weekly honk will be sent on Monday!
