Dear Graduate,

Recycling and Pre-cycling are both a transformative practice and a powerful tool!

·      As a tool, it helps us reclaim our power from the patterns that are taking our energy and sabotaging our presence and equanimity.

·      The real beauty of recycling and pre-cycling is that it is a practice of visioning living from your Spiritual Self. You are creating memories as you do this – memories of having met life with presence and authenticity.

 

Our patterns often have us strategizing our every interaction, or simply going along on automatic pilot. Then our Intellect gets busy trying to figure out how we should discipline ourselves to be instead, and we lapse into “awareness hell.” “If I could just do the right thing, just be a better person, etc.” With recycling and pre-cycling, there is nothing to figure out, nothing to memorize, nothing to discipline or effort about. You are simply coming present to your own Spiritual Self with all the wonderful and authentic qualities of being you need to meet life, and creating new memories of having successfully lived from this state of being.

 

Be-Do-Have versus Do-Have-Be

As you get more adept at recycling, you will likely find that it becomes easier to access your Spiritual Self in the moment, perhaps with a simple shift in posture or taking a deep breath – what we call “de-energizing.” And as you become more and more familiar with how it feels to embody your Spiritual Self, as opposed to the contractions and tensions of your patterns, you can cultivate presence in your life. Then what you do, comes from presence and choice. Your doing is an authentic action arising from your state of being, appropriate to the moment and the situation. Commit to using this wonderful tool/practice by scheduling some time every week!

 

Today’s action step: Recycle or pre-cycle one pattern right now using the Hoffman App or downloadable recording. Aim to master recycling without needing to listen to the recording. It’s quicker and always available!
