Happy New Year!

I have been catching up on my Flock emails and my heart is filled with joy!

The beautiful sunsets, the daily practices, Ethan and Deanna’s bright smiles, Burr’s amazing update and the overall outpouring of love and support that comes right through each one of your messages reminds me of how deeply we are connected despite our physical distance.

Cheers to 2019 and may the next 362 sunsets bring you the same joy, amazement.and appreciation.

Love you all!

Annie

Monica, (and The Flock)

Quick update on our travels. We're currently in Southeast Asia, Laos to be exact. For our New Year festivities, we took a two-day boat ride down the mighty Mekong. These were two of the best days we've had in four months of traveling. To backtrack a little bit, we left Greece on November 1st and went to Nepal where we trekked in the Annapurna Conservation Area and taught English to 14 Buddhist monks for two weeks in a super remote village named Kharikhola. Kharikhola is south of Everest by about 30 miles. For the month of December, we bounced around Thailand doing trash clean up with an organization called Trash Hero's. It is appalling just how much trash washes up on the shores here. We also visited with family in Bangkok for the Christmas holiday. In Laos, we're volunteering our time with a small organization called MyLibrary. MyLibrary offers computer literacy classes, photography, reading support and so much more to teenage kids in the Luang Prabang area. Today we're going out on bike's with our new friend and student of MyLibrary, Khamla Lao (18), to see the back streets of Luang Prabang and take some photos. Khamla's dream is to become a famous photographer.

I'm working on writing more in-depth stories from our travels. In the meantime, if you're interested you can read a piece I wrote for the publication Chicken Soup for the Soul: Running for Good. See attached.

Love,
-Burr

PS: Thanks to everyone who donated to Yoga and Sport for Refugees. So far we've raised $19,382.

Thank you for the beautiful sunset...even though they happen every day they’re still so special... we all see the same sun, no matter where we are in the world.
Deanna and Ethan your smiles are as bright as the sun, seeing you made my day.
Would be so great to be all in the the same place and watch the sunset together ❤️

Burr, where are you now? Are you in Greece still or Costa Rica?  xo
